We decided to fly to Redmond to be there for July and August - the 2 best months of the year. It was getting to be quite humid in the East and the motor home parks we wanted to visit were all crowded for those 2 months. It really seems that people in the East travel between Memorial Day and Labor Day en mass and its very difficult to get in anywhere during that time unless you have had reservations months in advance.
Sometimes things work out as they should since we were here with the family for the sudden sad passing of our niece, Janice Akey. She died of complications from pneumonia while on vacation at Disneyland with husband, son, and nephew. Janice was the flower girl at our wedding. She will be missed by the whole family.
Our house sitters, Carlee & Cody, have moved to their new home. We were here to help with that process which was complicated by 3 children, 2 dogs, and the new house being a bit of a drive to Monroe. Its a good house for their family with 4 bedrooms, a great yard, a lake, and close to schools and parks.
It has been enjoyable to see the grandkids, friends and family. We have been bike riding and canoeing. We are also preparing the house for some changes that we will do for us and also to be ready to sell if we ever find something smaller that we want to move to.
We stored our motor home and car near Chicago. Flew to Seattle - finally - after a cancellation and a very long day. We are going to take the train, Empire Builder, from Seattle to Chicago in mid September. This is going to be another part of our adventure. We have a roomette and will be on the train for 45 hours! We are very excited about this part of our trip. We will head south on the west side of the Mississippi into new territory. Then we will work our way back to the Seattle area in mid November. We will be back for Thanksgiving and Jean and Marks baby due Dec 2.
Will post again after our train trip!
